Adventurer 1 Class

Overview of class

Welcome to Adventurer 1 class. We are a mixed year 1 and year 2 class. Stevie is the class teacher. Sharon is the TA. Danielle and Emma are the ISAs.

Autumn 2:

This half term we are continuing to settle into our new classes and are enjoying being with our new peers and adults whilst exploring our new school environment.

In English, we have been enjoying stories ‘Where is the Green Sheep’, ‘Bears in the Night’ and ‘Dear Santa’.  We have worked hard to find the correct preposition and descriptors to complete the sentences. In Phonics, we continue to focus on forming our sounds and try really hard with our pre-reader sheets.

This term, in Maths, we have been looking at Measure. We have had opportunities to look at ‘big’, ‘small’, ‘bigger’ and ‘smaller’ and to identify and compare objects by size using comparative language.

Our Topic has been lots of fun! We have looked at ‘Celebrations around the world’ and have enjoyed lots of craft themed activities  including glitter, clay and collage to make our poppies for Remembrance Day, tissue paper snowflakes and glittery firework pictures.

In music, we have been enjoying taking part in small group sessions exploring different instruments and joining in with songs and music led by Karolin

During Forest School, we have been enjoying themed sessions with Pam. We have had lots of fun getting messy and playing with sand, mud and food alongside a focused activity and a range of mark making opportunities using natural materials.

Spring 1:

In Topic we will be looking at ‘Castles’

In English, we will be focusing on ‘Captions and Banners: Dragons and Chinese New Year.

In maths, we will enjoy learning about ‘Repeating patterns’.
