Overview of class
Welcome to Explorer 1. We are a mixed Early Years/ Year One class. Our Teacher is Michelle (Mon - Thurs) and Jo (Fri). Our Teaching assistant is Sharon. Julie, Jackie and Cheryl are our ISAs.
Explorer 1 Staff
Autumn 1:
We have welcomed our new children into Explorer 1 and have enjoyed exploring our classroom and all of our specialist rooms and areas with them.
Our topic for this half term is ‘all about me’. We have been looking at our facial features and parts of our body and have enjoyed making hand and foot prints. The children have been looking at pictures of their families and have been given the opportunity to listen to a whole group story called ‘Ten little fingers and Ten little toes.
On Mondays we’ve explored lots of activities in Forest School and jumping on the large trampoline with Jess our P.E. teacher has proven very popular.
During maths our topic is Time and we have looked at day and night time routines.
Autumn 2:
Our topic next half term is ‘Our Colourful World’ and we look forward to exploring lots of activities and looking at different celebrations.
Our trip to ‘Kids Rule Softplay will start on Thursday 7th November and will commence for 6 weeks. We look forward to sharing these experiences with you.
Reminders:
P.E. kits/comfy clothing on Wednesdays for our P.E. lesson.
Forest school is on Monday mornings. Suitable outdoor clothing required
Our library sessions are Tuesdays and Thursdays.
